Fire Engulfs Garage Of Hillsborough Home: Photos

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A fire broke out and engulfed a garage of a Hillsborough home on Tuesday. (Photos above and below)

The fire was reported at around 8:04 p.m. at 52 Vliet Drive. When Hillsborough firefighters and police got to the home the garage portion of the home was fully engulfed in flames, according to Hillsborough Police Cpl Craig Heindrich.

The fire had also extended into a room above the garage, according to Hillsborough Fire Co. #3 - Station 38.

At around 8:50 p.m. the fire was upgraded to a second alarm.

Along with Hillsborough Fire Company 3, Flagtown Fire/Rescue - Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Co. #1, Station 37 Fire, Neshanic Volunteer Fire Company, Manville Fire Department, Raritan Borough Fire Department and Montgomery Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 all helped to put out the fire.

"Because of the great teamwork and quick actions, the fire was held to the garage and above room," according to Hillsborough Fire Co. #3 - Station 38.

No one was injured. The fire does not appear suspicious, said Heindrich.

Also coming out to help included: Millstone Valley Fire Company #28, Franklin Township Fire Company, Readington Fire Company, Griggstown Fire Company, Robert Wood Johnson EMS, Hillsborough Bureau of Fire Safety, Hillsborough Township Emergency Management, PSE&G.
