HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A flood advisory was issued by National Weather Service for Hillsborough and southern Somerset County on Wednesday due to heavy rain.

Heavy rain and minor flooding are ongoing or expected in the area with up to 0.5 inches of rain already have fallen, according to the NWS.

Another .5 to 1 inch of rain is expected over the area.

Wednesday Afternoon: Showers. The rain could be heavy at times. High near 57. East wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Wednesday Night: Showers, mainly before 11 p.m. Areas of fog after midnight. Low around 48. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday: Areas of fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 74. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph.

Thursday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 a.m. Increasing clouds, with a low around 56. South wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8 a.m., then a chance of showers between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 77. Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
