The Goddard School Celebrates 20 Years in Hillsborough

The NAEYC and P21 Exemplar accredited early learning program opened in Hillsborough in March 1999 under the ownership of Susan Hoy

Susan Hoy opened the doors of The Goddard School in Hillsborough on March 1, 1999. Since then the accredited early childhood program has been an active piece of the central New Jersey community and a stepping stone to a love of lifelong learning for over 1,500 children ages 6 weeks through 6 years.

On Friday, March 1, 2019 the Goddard School community took the time to celebrate the milestone of 20 years of growing and learning together. Nearly 300 currently and former students with their families, teachers and representatives from The Goddard School corporate office located in King of Prussia came together to acknowledge the program founded by Mrs. Hoy two decades ago. The evening featured dinner, treats, music, photos, facepainting and a charity basket auction that raised more than $300 for local charity Steps Together.

Since its inception The Goddard School in Hillsborough has been consistently recognized for its commitment to excellence in early childhood education and adherence to the best practices in health and safety. The program is individually NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) accredited and the only recognized P21 Exemplar School in the state of New Jersey. In recent years the school has continued to expand its wide variety of learning through play based programs under the leadership of long time Educational Director, Krista McAlarnen including the debut of the Story Time Chess lessons, Level Up Village global digital learning partnership and implementation of the Zid Zid foreign language program.
