High Winds Topple Trees, Residents Without Power In Hillsborough

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Heavy winds brought down trees causing outages in Hillsborough Township on Sunday and continued into Monday.

Trees reportedly came down on Willow Road and Three Bridges Road causing damages to utility poles and closing roadways while repairs were done.

Power outages continued into Monday as more than 75 PSE&G customers were without power. As of Monday at 5:25 p.m., power has since been restored to most of the customers.

Monday remained breezy with a northwest wind of 15 to 20 mph and gusts as high as 30 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

Here is a look at the upcoming forecast for the week:

Monday Night: Clear, with a low around 33. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 65. Light southeast wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

Tuesday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 45. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday: Showers, mainly after 2 p.m. High near 66. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Wednesday Night: Showers. Low around 40. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a half and three-quarters of an inch possible.

Thursday: Showers likely, mainly before 8 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 50. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 27.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 44.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 27.
