Hillsborough Boy, 11, With Autism Sets 96-Yard Touchdown Record

Video: Hillsborough's Tommy Marcketta and Newark's Lamont Banks complete the longest touchdown pass in Rutgers spring game history.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough 11-year-old Tommy Marcketta and 19-year-old Lamont Banks of Newark completed a 96-yard touchdown pass on Saturday, April 13, which is the longest in Rutgers spring game history.

During the Rutgers Scarlet-White spring football game, Marcketta threw the ball to Banks who then took it down field to complete the record setting touchdown.

Marcketta is a Children’s Specialized Hospital patient who was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Banks is a Valerie Fund Patient at Children’s Hospital of NJ at Newark Beth Israel who was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia.

Along with setting records, Marcketta and Banks were able to interact with players and coaches before the game and received a behind the scenes tour of the Rutgers athletic facility.
