Hillsborough Brewery Gives Free Beer For Those Who Get COVID Shot

Gov. Phil Murphy announced the "Shot and a Beer" program to encourage eligible New Jerseyans ages 21 and over to get vaccinated.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Get your first COVID-19 vaccine during the month of May and you can get a free beer at Flounder Brewing in Hillsborough.

The free beer offer is part of Governor Phil Murphy's "Shot and a Beer" program to encourage eligible New Jerseyans ages 21 and over to get vaccinated.

Any New Jerseyan who gets their first vaccine dose in the month of May and takes their vaccination card to a participating brewery will receive a free beer.

There are currently 13 New Jersey breweries participating in the program including Flounder Brewing at 1 Ilene Court in Hillsborough.

"We are excited to participate in the program and encourage people to get out and get vaccinated," said Flounder Brewing Owner Jeremy Lees. "Getting vaccinated will help small businesses like us who are a small brewery get back to 100 percent occupancy... We want to encourage people to go out and get vaccinated."

Flounder Brewing is open:

  • Thursday 3 to 7 p.m.
  • Friday 3 to 8 p.m.
  • Saturday noon to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday noon to 5 p.m.

Flounder Brewing has limited seating and it is on a first-come, first-come basis. Customers will receive one free 16 ounce pint of a beer of their choice.
