Hillsborough Christmas Tree Lighting Friday

Santa will arrive courtesy of the Flagtown Fire Department at 7 p.m. to help light the Christmas Tree.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough's annual lighting of the Township Christmas Tree will be held on Friday with festivities beginning at 6 p.m.

The event will include train rides (weather permitting) from 6 to 8 p.m., a petting zoo and a surprise visit from Elsa, Anna and Olaf of Disney’s Frozen.

Santa will arrive courtesy of the Flagtown Fire Department at 7 p.m. to help light the Christmas Tree. Hot cocoa, cookies and candy canes will be provided, while supplies last, compliments of the Hillsborough Township Recreation Department.

Kettle corn will also be for sale. DJ Lou will perform outside around fire barrels to help warm the

atmosphere, alongside live performances prior to the tree being lit.

The holiday fun continues on Dec. 12, as Hillsborough Township celebrates the first night of Hanukkah, the Jewish Festival of Lights, with a Menorah lighting ceremony at 6 p.m.

The celebration will be sponsored by the Chabad Center for Jewish Life. More information regarding this ceremony can be found at www.myjewishcenter.org.
