Hillsborough Firefighters Respond to Blizzard Emergencies
18 firefighters at the Station 37 Fire Company responded to several emergency calls during this week's snow storm.
This week’s blizzard may have fizzled out sooner than expected in Hillsborough, but the Station 37 Fire Company still came to the rescue of several township residents in need during the storm.
The Station 37 Fire Company in Hillsborough responded to four EMS medical emergencies and two commercial alarm activations during the storm, according to the Station’s Facebook page.

18 Fire Company members were on stand by Monday night, handling fire calls and providing assistance for Hillsborough’s 79 Ambulance Rescue unit on EMS runs.
The 18 firefighters manned a three-piece apparatus (pictured,) including the command vehicle, a rep from Station 37 stated online.

A state of emergency was declared in New Jersey Monday afternoon, but the blizzard dropped less than expected amounts of snow on Hillsborough Monday night, with only 4 to 8 inches falling in Somerset County.
Only an inch of new snow accumulated Tuesday – a far cry from the 11 inches of snow that was predicted by the National Weather Service Monday night.
