Hillsborough Firehouse Featured In Mayor's #ThrowbackThursday

The Woods Road Firehouse, home to Station 38 Fire Company #3, is highlighted. Station 38 responded to several emergencies during the storm.

Each week, Hillsborough Mayor Doug Tomson informs local residents by participating in the social media phenomenon, #ThrowbackThursday. This week, Mayor Tomson highlights the historic Woods Road Firehouse.

Construction began on the Woods Road Firehouse 40 years ago this week, Mayor Tomson explains. The Mayor’s #tbt photos capture historic newspaper clippings of the ground breaking as well as the original architectural plans for the firehouse.

The Mayor swore in several new firefighters on Saturday, Jan. 24 at the firehouse. The Station 38 Fire Company #3 (pictured) was hard at work during the blizzard, responding to alarm activations, reports of smoke odors, and miscellaneous emergencies around town.

The Station 38 Fire Company also reminded residents to shovel snow, clearing a three-foot radius around fire hydrants near the home after the storm. The Fire Company stated that snow accumulations make a firefighter’s job “dangerous and difficult.”
