Hillsborough Library Branch Celebrates National Agriculture Day

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Freeholder Director Peter Palmer visited Somerset County Library System of New Jersey’s Hillsborough Library branch to celebrate National Agriculture (Ag) Day on March 4.
National Ag Day recognizes and celebrates the abundance provided by agriculture. 2017 marks the 44th annual National Ag Day and, together with the Somerset County Agriculture Development Board and Freeholder Director Palmer, SCLSNJ marked the occasion this family-friendly program for the community.

The Somerset County Agriculture Development Board staff will assemble the completed boards into raised bed vegetable planters which will be located throughout Somerset County, including SCLSNJ’s Bound Brook Memorial and Hillsborough Library branches. The harvest will be donated to local food banks.
Freeholder Director Palmer will be at a second Ag Day program on March 21 from 7 to 8 p.m. at SCLSNJ’s Bound Brook Memorial Library branch. Visit SCLSNJ.org for more information.
