Hillsborough Mayor Urges Residents To Support Local Restaurants

Hillsborough's 3rd Annual Restaurant Week will kick off Sept. 29 and run through Oct. 4.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough Mayor Doug Tomson is urging residents to go out and support local township restaurants as many are still struggling amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"There is no better opportunity than now to go out there and support them," Tomson said referring to Hillsborough's 3rd Annual Restaurant Week.

Restaurant week will kick off Sept. 29 and run through Oct. 4. It includes participating Hillsborough restaurants, who will offer specials and showcase their creative cuisine for local residents and foodies from all over.

"I am hearing how [restaurants] have lost 70-, 80-, 90- percent, sometimes, of business during the beginning of COVID-19 and they've picked some of it back up, but they are still in a very, terrible spot, some of them," Tomson said. "If you have the opportunity and have the means please get out there and support them they really can use it."
