Hillsborough Podiatrist Collects Socks For Those in Need
Hillsborough podiatrist, Family Foot & Ankle Specialists, is collecting new, clean socks for those in need in our communities.
Did you know socks are the item that is most requested by the local shelters and organizations, yet they are donated less frequently than other items. Unfortunately, socks are overlooked and under donated. For those who live on the streets or in shelters, finding clean socks everyday can be very difficult.
Your feet are used everyday, not matter what you do. Living on the streets often means walking long distances, limited access to showers and laundry facilities so clean socks can be rare. Without clean socks, people can develop fungus, sores, blisters which left untreated, can lead to very serious problems.
Our offices are hosting our first sock drive to help those in need get one foot up. We are collecting new, clean socks in all shapes, sizes and colors. If you are able to help support this cause, we greatly appreciate it!
