Hillsborough Podiatrist is Helping During Covid19

Family Foot & Ankle Specialists, a Hillsborough podiatry office, is helping patients feel better even during covid19. Many different foot and ankle problems have surfaced during quarantine. Heel pain, diabetic complications, gout, and foot injuries began to rise as our communities went into lock down.

The office has remained open and diligent in helping those with foot or ankle pain, problems and emergencies. In an effort to relieve the burden on urgent cares and emergency rooms, the office treated those in pain, safely. While the office remained open, staff and hours were limited.

Foot problems took an interesting turn during lock down. The doctors were treating more foot and ankle injuries. With people being home (and often barefoot) the doctors saw a lot of cans dropped on toes or "jammed' toes. Ankle sprains were at a high as people hit the trails as a way to get exercise while social distancing.

Also diabetic and gout problems increased. All the comfort snacks and increased alcohol caused a lot of flare up and spikes. In addition, heel pain appointments rose. People began to walk more as a way to change the scenery. Also, people were not wearing proper foot wear or they were going barefoot more often.

Family Foot & Ankle Specialists were able to treat these patients safely in the office by taking extra precautions to keep their patients, team and community safe. The office has valet car-to-treatment room valet service so there is no waiting or lines. The office is diligently cleaning all high touch surface areas hourly with CDC recommended products and appointments are spread out to avoid congestion and telemedicine is available.
