Hillsborough Police Launch Motorcycle Unit Thanks To Donation

Two motorcycles worth $60,000 in total were donated to the Hillsborough Police recently.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Two brand new Harley Davidson FLHTP Motorcycles were recently donated to the Hillsborough Police allowing the department to create a new Motorcycle Unit.

The two motorcycles, worth $60,000 in total, are fully outfitted with emergency lights and equipment for police use and were donated by Dr. Cesar DePaco.

"We are excited to start this new unit which will be a major contribution to many community policing initiatives going forward," Chief Michael McMahon said.

Detective Christopher Giraldi and Patrolman Thomas Gurba were selected to launch the new motorcycle unit and are both highly qualified and experienced riders.

Giraldi and Gurba recently completed and graduated from an advanced police motor school in order to sharpen their skills for this new endeavor.

DePaco is a longtime supporter of law enforcement and has made numerous donations of K-9’s and equipment to police departments across this country. He previously donated a K-9 in 2012 to the Hillsborough Police.

"The generosity and support that Dr. DePaco and his family have shown to the Hillsborough Police Department over the years is overwhelming and truly appreciated, especially in these unprecedented times. We value his friendship and continued support,” McMahon said.
