Hillsborough Public Schools Closed Tomorrow for Blizzard

All schools in the district will be closed tomorrow, as the two-day blizzard is expected to dump a foot of snow on the area.

The Hillsborough school district has announced that all public schools in Hillsborough will be closed tomorrow, due to the blizzard set to dump a foot of snow on the Township.

The Learning Experience school in Hillsborough is also closed tomorrow.

Hillsborough is under a Blizzard watch from Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening, as more than a foot of “heavy blowing snow” is predicted to hit the state, the National Weather Service reports.

By Monday night, Hillsborough could see 8 inches of new snow accumulation, with an additional three to five inches falling on Tuesday. According to the NWS, much of the state will see blizzard conditions and one to two feet of snow.

Governor Chris Christie today declared a state of emergency Monday as a winter storm with tropic-storm-force winds began to fall in New Jersey. Power companies are warning residents that strong winds may bring down power lines and tree limbs.
