On March 19th The Hillsborough Teen Age Republican Club held their inaugural meeting at The Landing.
The teens picked an exciting night to have their first meeting, which was a joint meeting with The Hillsborough Republican Club, the Hillsborough Republican Committee and the Hillsborough Teen Age Republican Club. Our current Mayor, Frank DelCore was nominated by the Hillsborough GOP to run again for Township Committee. Former Freeholder and Montgomery Mayor Mark Caliguire, former Montgomery Mayor Christine Madrid who are both running for State Assembly spoke to the members about their upcoming campaign, Pat Walsh who is Freeholder Deputy Director running for Freeholder as well as William “Bill” Parenti who is current North Plainfield Chief of Police running for Somerset County Sheriff. All the speakers spent time with the Teen’s having open discussion and answering some tough questions. Beside Mayor DelCore, Township Committee members, Gloria McCauley, Doug Tomson and Shawn Lipani came over to the Teen’s table for a nice chat. Also spending time with the Teen’s were Somerset County Surrogate Frank Bruno who shared his stories of his Republican beginnings as a teen, Former Freeholder and long time Somerset County advocate Peter Palmer shared some stories with the teens about life in politics.
