Hillsborough's COVID-19 Vaccine Numbers: How Does The Town Rate?
As the CDC says fully vaccinated people no longer have to wear masks, see how many people in Hillsborough have reached that level.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — As the federal Centers for Disease Control changes its guidance on masking for people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, Hillsborough still has work to do to get its residents vaccinated.
The New Jersey Department of Health released town-level data on COVID-19 vaccinations. The state's COVID-19 dashboard now reveals the percentage of all people, adults and seniors who have been partially or fully vaccinated in each city and town.
Here's the data in Hillsborough Township as of Friday, May 21:

- Hillsborough population with at least one dose: 62 percent of all ages, 78 percent of adults (18 and older) and 113 percent of seniors (65 and older).
- Hillsborough population fully vaccinated: 51 percent of all ages, 65 percent of adults and 101 percent of seniors.
Hillsborough is slowly making progress. Comparing the numbers from May 10, the percentage of fully vaccinated people of all ages increased by 7 percent and the percentage of all ages with at least one dose increased 4 percent.
Across Somerset County, there have been 345,975 doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered as of May 21, according to the state Department of Health. There were 197,993 county residents who have received at least one dose of the vaccines, the state's COVID-19 database says, and 161,142 who were fully vaccinated as of that date.

New Jersey set a goal to fully vaccinate 70 percent of adults — 4.7 million people — by the end of June. About 3.6 million people in New Jersey have been fully vaccinated as of Monday afternoon.
