Kids Jump For Joy As Colonial Park Spray Park Opens
The much-anticipated and long-awaited Colonial Park Spray Park finally opened on Friday in Somerset.
SOMERSET, NJ — Local kids jumped for joy as the much-anticipated and long-awaited Colonial Park Spray Park finally opened on Friday.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at 10 a.m. on Aug. 30 at the park located off Mettlers Road in Somerset.
The 21-unit Children's Spray Park is located next to the Morgan Pellowski Playground and near the Putting Course and Paddle Boat ramp.

The busy bee, spill tower, and mushroom maze are just some of the more than 20 water features that will keep all children entertained. The park is designed for children who must be accompanied by an adult.
The spray park is open on Labor Day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays in September from noon to 5 p.m.

The park opening had been delayed numerous times since last year for reasons including permitting issues, contractor disputes and most recently bacteria issues. (See Related: Bacteria Delays Colonial Park Spray Park Opening)
