Montgomery Teen Had Passion For Helping Others

Funeral services will be held Wednesday night for Chase M. Coram, 19, of Belle Mead who died after he crashed into a tree in Hillsborough.

MONTGOMERY, NJ — Funeral services will be held on Wednesday night for a Belle Mead teen who died after a car he was driving crashed into a tree in Hillsborough early Saturday morning.

Chase Matthew Coram, 19, was a lifelong resident of Belle Mead and graduated from Montgomery High School in 2017.

He recently completed his first year of college at Monmouth University and was looking forward to an eventual career in law.

Chase had a passion for helping others. He was a member of the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Co #1 in Belle Mead as a junior firefighter, and was joined in service there by his father, Gregory Coram, according to his obituary on Hillsborough Funeral Home.

Chase was recently predeceased by his father Timothy F Boller. He leaves behind his loving father, Dr. Gregory J. Coram, his younger brother Cole Michael Coram and his girlfriend Julia Niehoff. He will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.

Memorial visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hillsborough Funeral Home, 796 US Highway 206, in Hillsborough.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that anyone wishing to may make a tax-deductible donation to the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Co #1 at www.mtvfc1.org.

Many are mourning Coram's sudden death and expressed their condolences on the funeral home's website.

"This boy was so loved and will leave a hole in the heart of the family he left behind. However, his memory will stay with them forever," Patricia Harper said.

"You will be missed Chase. You were such a sweet, respectful young man. Always happy and your smile lit us all up. My heart goes out to you and your family," said Joyce Clark.
