Police: Hillsborough Man Busted for Drunk Driving Had a BAC Double the Legal Limit

The 25-year-old was caught driving recklessly with a blood alcohol content that clocked in at more than twice the legal limit.

A Hillsborough man was arrested for driving with a blood alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit, Police say.

Reginald Pierre, 25, was arrested on Jan. 1 for driving under the influence, according to a report released Tuesday by Hillsborough Police Lt. Mark Besser.

After stopping Pierre on Triangle Road in Hillsborough, Police discovered that his blood alcohol content was 0.17 percent – more than twice the legal limit. Pierre was also charged with driving without auto insurance, reckless driving, obstructing traffic, and unclear plates. He was processed and released pending a court appearance, Lt. Besser stated.

Just three days later, a Lakewood woman was arrested for shoplifting at the Kohl’s store on Route 206 in Hillsborough, Besser reported.

Jennifer Lastella, 34, of Lakewood, was apprehended by police on Jan. 4 for attempting to smuggle an electronic tablet out of the store in a bag without paying for it, Besser stated. The tablet was valued at $119. Lastella was processed and released pending a court appearance.
