Police Seize Guns, $1,900 In Narcotics From Somerset County Man
A surveillance team seized two revolvers, ecstasy pills, marijuana, and meth from a local man believed to have been dealing in the area.

A Franklin Township man has been arrested after Police discovered two revolvers and $1,900 of marijuana, ecstasy, and methamphetamine in his possession.
Kenneth James, 23, of Lenox Place, in the Somerset section of Franklin Township, was arrested on Jan. 28 by a surveillance team conducting a narcotics investigation regarding the distribution of marijuana by James from his residence, Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano stated.
At approximately 6:05 p.m. Wednesday, a surveillance team observed James leave his residence in his Acura TL, Soriano stated. Detectives conducted a motor vehicle stop, where the officers advised James of the ongoing narcotics investigation.

During the stop, the Detectives used a previously obtained Superior Court search warrant to search James’ person, along with his motor vehicle and residence.
While searching the suspect’s residence, Detectives seized a Ruger Super Blackhawk, .44 Magnum revolver loaded with hollow point bullets and a loaded .22 caliber JM Marlin revolver.

Police also seized two additional ounces of Marijuana, nine Ecstasy pills (MDMA) and less than one ounce of Methamphetamine from James’ residence.
A search of his vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 56 grams of marijuana, 6 Ecstasy pills (MDMA) and less than one ounce of methamphetamine, according to the investigation.
The total Marijuana seized has an estimated street value of $1,200, $300 for the Ecstasy pills, and $400 for the Methamphetamine, Soriano stated.
According to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office:
Kenneth James was charged with:
- A third degree charge of Possession of CDS (Marijuana) with the Intent to Distribute
- A third degree charge of Possession of CDS (MDMA) Ecstasy
- A third degree charge Possession of CDS Methamphetamine
- A fourth degree charge of Possession of Hollow Point Bullets
- Two counts of Possession of a Firearm while Committing a CDS Offense
- James is currently being held at the Somerset County Jail.
Members of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force along with members of the Franklin Township Police Department Crime Suppression Unit conducted the narcotics investigation.
