Somerset Ancient Order Of Hibernians Donate Thanksgiving Dinners

The Somerset Ancient Order of Hibernians distributed 83 Thanksgiving dinners to organizations and families in need in Somerset County.

SOMERVILLE, NJ — The Somerset Ancient Order of Hibernians, with the support of the Somerville Knights of Columbus, distributed 83 Thanksgiving dinners to organizations and families in need in the Somerset County area on Nov. 20.

The dinners included a turkey, potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, canned vegetables and some snack items.

  • Agape House (Somerville),
  • Center for Great Expectations (Somerset)
  • Elijah’s Promise (New Brunswick)
  • Anderson House (Whitehouse Station)
  • Visions and Pathways (Bridgewater)
  • Hunterdon Youth Services (Flemington)
  • SHIP (Somerville)

An additional 50 turkeys were delivered amongst the Franklin Food Bank, the Somerset county food bank and SHIP in Somerville.

The Hibernians purchased some of the food and turkeys (at charitable discounts) from ShopRite of Flemington and Kings of Whitehouse Station. A great deal of the food was donated by the organization’s members and the local community at an Irish Seisiun (music party) which was held on Nov. 19.

The effort was led by event co-chairs Tom Burns and Dan Esposito, both of Hillsborough. of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
