Somerset County To Open Pop-Up Drive-Thru COVID Vaccine Clinic
The clinic in Franklin will be able to offer 200 new appointments per day thanks to the additional allocation of the J&J one-dose shot.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — Somerset County is opening a new pop-up drive-thru COVID-19 vaccination clinic this week in Franklin Township thanks to the additional allocation of the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) one-dose vaccine to the county.
The pop-up will be able to offer 200 new appointments per day that the site is open. The existing Raritan Valley Community College drive-thru clinic will also administer the J&J vaccine from this allotment and continue to provide both first and second Moderna doses as it has since January.
"The good news is that the New Jersey Department of Health provided us with an additional allocation of vaccine this week, and we are ready and able to get it quickly into the arms of Somerset County residents with this pop-up clinic in Franklin," said Somerset County Commissioner Director Shanel Robinson. "The better news is Somerset County can handle even more than our current allocation of both Moderna and J&J, and we are ready to scale up to meet any allocation the state provides us in the future."

To get an appointment at the pop-up site in the Rutgers Plaza shopping center in Franklin Township residents need to be scheduled through the state appointment system at covidvaccine.nj.gov.
Registering with this site does not create an appointment, but only registers residents to be notified of when they are eligible to make a COVID-19 vaccination appointment. Once they qualify for vaccination, they will receive a second email from the state with a link to schedule an appointment at one of the sites on the list, including RVCC and Rutgers Plaza.

Residents who schedule an appointment at the Rutgers Plaza clinic should arrive within a 15-minute window of their appointment to ensure the safety of staff, clinic clients, and the public. If a resident arrives too early, they will be asked to come back to ensure safe traffic flow on Easton Avenue, JFK Boulevard, and in the parking lot where the clinic is being held.
