Somerset County Road Work Affected by Shutdown As Of Friday

Morris County, NJ — Gov. Chris Christie is playing hardball with the New Jersey Legislature, and is vowing to go through with a planned shutdown of all roadwork projects in the state starting Friday, after the Senate refused his proposal to raise the state’s gas tax.

How will this affect you? Here's a list of all the roadwork projects in Morris County that will be shut down, effective this Friday. Also, bridge and tunnel maintenance work will be suspended statewide, as will an ongoing $3.6 million streetlight replacement project in Morris County. (All federally funded work, or projects necessary for safety reasons will continue, Christie said.)
