Somerset Man, Former Coach Had 'Sexual Conduct' With Child: Cops

Scott Miller, who was a basketball coach with the Central Jersey Havoc Basketball Club, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

SOMERSET, NJ — A Somerset man and a former basketball coach was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child who was known to him, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.

Scott T. Miller, 40, of Somerset, was arrested on March 25 and charged with one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

An investigation by Milltown Police and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office found that on multiple occasions between November 2020 and March 2021, Miller engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct and communications with the minor victim, said Ciccone.

Miller was a basketball coach with the Central Jersey Havoc Basketball Club, a club for male and female student-athletes, but recently left the program to start his own basketball team.

Miller was released from the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center subsequent to an initial court appearance before Judge Gary Price.
