Staff Tests Positive For Coronavirus, Stage House Somerset Closes

SOMERSET, NJ — The Stage House Tavern in Somerset is temporarily closed after several employees tested positive for the coronavirus.

One employee tested positive for COVID-19 last Saturday, the Stage House management said in a Facebook post on Thursday night.

The restaurant, at 1719 Amwell Rd. in Somerset, remained open on Sunday and then fully closed on Monday.

"As per the health department, we were told to use staff members who were NOT in contact or exposed to the person which is why we were able to open Sunday. We closed starting Monday," the restaurant said Thursday night.

Beginning on Monday, the restaurant fully closed and sent all employees home to be tested. Since then several employees have tested positive for the coronavirus.

The Stage House Tavern remains closed while employees recover and the restaurant is cleaned and sanitized.

"The virus is real and still circulating in our community. We are doing everything in our power to keep it from coming here to Stage House, but unfortunately, it comes in so many ways," restaurant management said.

Any patrons with questions were asked to call Stage House at 732-873-3990.
