Restoration Not Expected For Days In Hillsborough, Montgomery
Tropical Storm Isaias caused more than 5,000 residents in Hillsborough and Montgomery to lose power on Tuesday.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Tropical Storm Isaias caused more than 5,000 residents in Hillsborough and Montgomery to lose power and trees and wires to come down on Tuesday. Restoration is not expected for days.
PSE&G is reporting 958 residents in Hillsborough and more than 4,552 in Montgomery are without power as of 6:15 p.m. Power is expected to restored by Thursday at 3 p.m. for Hillsborough and Friday at 6:15 a.m. for Montgomery residents, according to PSE&G.
JCP&L is reporting 1,045 Hillsborough residents are without power. A restoration time has not been set by JCP&L.

There is a total of 14,168 PSE&G customers in Somerset County without power and 21,648 JCP&L customers in the county without power as of 6:30 p.m.

A flash flood watch, tornado watch, and tropical storm warning were issued for Somerset County on Tuesday due to Tropical Storm Isaias.
As a result of the storm, the New Jersey MVC announced through their website that all agency locations, including Somerville, were closed Tuesday. Somerset County canceled recycling for some portions of the county due to the storm, it will resume on Wednesday morning.
