Hillsborough, NJ -- They are here!
After months of anticipation, the Bald Eagles eggs have hatched at Duke Farms.
The first fluffy eaglet was born at 4:55 p.m. on Saturday, March 26. The second chick arrived Monday morning at 8:41 a.m.
"This is special time of year for us and always a great occasion when bald eagle chicks are being born," Duke Farms Michael Catania told Patch. "We like the public are fascinated about this and this is one of the great things about Duke Farms."
Bald eagles are early breeders as they begin nest building or reinforcing often by mid-February. Egg laying is often late February and incubation is usually mid-March and early May. Eggs hatch from mid April to early May, and the young fledge late June to early July, according to Wikipedia.
