Woman Crashes Stolen Car With Child Passenger In Bound Brook: PD

Anna Mastrian, 33, of Branchburg led police on a chase through Hillsborough, Manville, and Bridgewater before crashing in Bound Brook: Cops.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A woman with a small child was charged with stealing a car from Hillsborough and leading police on a chase through multiple towns.

On Easter Sunday, April 4 at about 8:46 p.m. Hillsborough Police were called out to 112 South Branch Road where a woman with a small child reportedly took an unlocked car with the keys inside from the driveway, said Hillsborough Police Lt. John J. Carney Jr.

While driving to the home, police spotted the stolen car driving eastbound on South Branch Road. Officers put on their emergency lights but the driver, later identified as Anna Mastrian, 33, of Branchburg, did not stop, said Carney Jr.

The stolen car led officers through several towns including Hillsborough, Manville, and Bridgewater before officers stopped the chase for safety reasons.

Mastrian later crashed in Bound Brook and was stopped by Bound Brook Police. Mastrian was charged with third-degree auto theft and third-degree eluding police.
