2 Face Weapons Charge After Shooting In Lakewood: Police
Lakewood police say the men, who were in a vehicle with damage from incoming gunfire, kept returning to the scene of the reported shooting.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — Two men have been arrested on weapons charges after a shooting in Lakewood early Thursday morning.
Eric Harris, 32, and Nekeisha McDermott, 41, both were charged after the incident that happened about 12:20 a.m. Thursday, Lakewood Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said.
Harris, McDermott and a third man, Jonathan Ross, were in a vehicle that was seen leaving the area of the Lakewood Community Center at 20 Fourth St. following the report of the shooting, Staffordsmith said.

The vehicle "left the scene in a hurry," and was found a short time later at the Wawa on Route 70 west by patrol officers, who saw the vehicle had damage from incoming gunfire, Staffordsmith said.
The three men gave their information but were uncooperative with the patrol officers, he said.

A short time later, the three men returned to the community center, leaving again after seeing police were still investigating, but circling the area again before police pulled the vehicle over, Staffordsmith said.
Investigation led to the discovery of a loaded .357 revolver, a large quantity of ammunition and a large quantity of narcotics, he said.
Harris and McDermott both have been charged with unlawful possession of handgun, possession of handgun for unlawful purpose, possession of a handgun while committing a CDS offense, anad several drug-related charges.
McDermott additionally was charged with certain persons not to possess a firearm, he said.
Ross, whose age and hometown were not available, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Newark but later released pending a new court date.
The investigation is continuing.
