Authorities said the unidentified teen driver of a 2009 Infiniti G37 had two passengers, Hector Martinez, 18, of Toms River, and the second teen, now identified as Vlasyuk, who was in the back seat.

They were headed east on Cedar Bridge Avenue "at a high rate of speed" when they came upon an unidentified vehicle in the left-turn lane that was trying to turn left on Clover Street, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. The teen driving the Infiniti tried to navigate around the vehicle turning left and in doing so lost control of the car, which left the road and hit the front of a building, then rolled over and came to rest on its roof and hood.

Vlasyuk was thrown from the car and died at the scene. The teen driver, who has not been identified due to his age, and Martinez, both were injured.
