Brick Anti-Drug Coalition Appoints Lindsay Dunnells to Board

Brick Municipal Anti-Drug Coalition names Lindsay Dunnells of Turning Point's Lakewood facility to board.

Brick resident Lindsay Dunnells, LCSW, LCADC, director of outpatient services at Turning Point’s Lakewood facility, opening March 7, has been appointed as one of 25 board members of the Brick Municipal Anti-Drug Coalition. Turning Point operates drug and alcohol treatment facilities statewide.

The BMAC is a municipal organization composed of volunteers and their organizations dedicated to combating substance abuse in the community. It provides substance abuse prevention programs and services for the community, particularly on reducing prescription medication misuse including opiates, which is fueling the current heroin crisis in the area. Funding is provided by the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, the municipality, sponsorships, grants, and donations.

Dunnells joined Turning Point in 2018, bringing with her a dozen years of experience in the area of substance abuse recovery. Prior to coming to Turning Point, she was the regional director for the New Jersey Reentry Corporation in Jersey City.

She is a graduate of Fairfield University in Connecticut where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. She holds a Master of Science degree in social work, advance generalist practice and programming, contemporary social issues from Colombia University School of Social Work in New York. She is licensed as a clinical social worker in both New Jersey and New York and holds numerous certifications as well.

Turning Point, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, is a New Jersey drug and alcohol addiction treatment center that helps more than 3,500 people every year. With multiple locations throughout New Jersey, it has been a trusted source for drug and alcohol addiction treatment since 1975.
