Crash Closes Massachusetts Ave., Knocks Out Power In Lakewood
Police are urging motorists to avoid the area; homes in the Fairways and Enclave developments are without electricity as a result.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — Massachusetts Avenue is shut down Friday night between Cross Street and Honey Locust Drive due to a motor vehicle crash, Lakewood police said.
The crash took down a utility pole, knocking out power to residents in the Fairways and Enclave developments, police said. More than 1,100 homes were without power, according to the First Energy outage map.
Police and firefighters are on the scene of the crash and JCP&L crews are working on the downed utility pole. Electricity is anticipated to be restored about midnight, according to the First Energy outage map.
