Lakewood Schools Cancel Classes For Wednesday
The winter storm hammering much of the state is expected to bring up to a foot of snow to much of Ocean County.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — The Lakewood Public School District will be closed for Wednesday, March 21, due to the ongoing winter storm.
The district had two snow days in January when the first big storm of the winter dropped a foot of snow and the last day of school had tentatively been set for June 20. Wednesday's snow day will likely be added to the end of the year. Ocean County was spared during the last two storms that knocked out power to thousands of homes in the northern and western parts of the state and in Pennsylvania.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning on Tuesday morning that extends through early Thursday for a nor'easter that is expected to hit in two waves. Forecasters have said it could bring 8 to 12 inches in most of Ocean County, with some parts seeing as much as 18 inches potentially.
