Lakewood Schools Close Amid Nor'easter
The district canceled all classes for Thursday during the storm.
LAKEWOOD, NJ — The Lakewood School District will be closed Thursday as a result of the effects of the nor'easter that was bringing snow and rain to Ocean County on Wednesday.
All classes, remote and in-person, are canceled, Superintendent Laura Winters said.
Lakewood's public schools have been holding full-day classes in person for the district's 6,000 students since the beginning of the school year. Some classes have shifted to remote instruction temporarily as a result of students and staff contracting the coronavirus.
