Lakewood Schools Closed Again Friday Due To Blizzard Cleanup

Authorities continue to urge residents to stay off the roads unless necessary due to hazardous conditions.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — As cleanup from Thursday's blizzard continued well into the wee hours Friday, Lakewood School District officials announced they were closing school again Friday.

The National Weather Service's Mount Holly office said the area received between 15 and 18 inches of snow, based on reports from trained spotters in Brick, Jackson and Howell. On Friday, temperatures were expected to drop to the single digits, making road conditions treacherous.

Lakewood police continue to urge residents to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.
