Lakewood Storm Update: Closings, Cancellations March 21

Beyond school closings, there are other areas affected.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — If you're asking "Where's the snow," Lakewood authorities have a warning: It's coming.

"Do not be fooled by clear roads. Fierce winter storm coming. Heavy snow & high wind warnings. Stay home & keep roads clear," police said in a post on Facebook Wednesday morning. The second wave of a nor'easter that is expected to drop as much as 10 inches of snow on much of New Jersey is expected to hit somewhere around noon, forecasters have said.

The forecast prompted a declaration of a state of emergency by Gov. Phil Murphy on Tuesday evening, as roads became hazardous. The Ocean County Sheriff's Office issued multiple warnings about the slick conditions, urging motorists to slow down.
