Man Hospitalized Following Shooting In Lakewood

The man was in stable condition on Saturday; the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said the shooting is under investigation.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — Authorities are investigating a shooting that happened Friday night in Lakewood and left a man hospitalized, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said Saturday.

Police were called to an unspecified part of Martin Luther King Boulevard about 9:45 p.m. for the report of a gunshot victim and found a 30-year-old man with a wound to his back, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

The man was take to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood and was reported to be in stable condition on Saturday, Billhimer said.

The Major Crime Unit of the prosecutor's office, Lakewood Township police and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit are investigating.
