The Lakewood Scoop reported that the officer, 23, was a member of the Lakewood Police department.
The police officer was killed in a motorcycle crash on Thompson Bridge Road in Jackson, according to The Asbury Park Press.

An investigation has been ongoing since the motorcycle apparently struck a tree just before 5 p.m., The Press said.
