2 Old Bridge School PTAs Report Theft Of Funds; Police Investigating
Two Old Bridge school PTAs, Jonas Salk Middle School and Grissom Elementary, said this week they discovered missing money:
OLD BRIDGE, NJ ? The parent teacher associations (PTAs) of two different Old Bridge public schools are reporting a possible theft of funds this week.
The two school PTAs are the Grissom Elementary School PTA and the Jonas Salk Middle School PTA. Both sent letters to parents this week reporting financial "issues."
Both school PTAs said they referred the matter to Old Bridge Police, who "are actively investigating," said the Grissom PTA Board. They also said they removed a member of the Grissom Elementary School PTA board, but did not name the board member.

The Grissom Elementary School PTA sent the first letter out, and in it they said there was an "issue" discovered with their PTA financial accounts.
Then on Tuesday, Jonas Salk Middle School PTA sent a separate letter to parents in that school, saying "Jonas Salk PTA has been a victim of lost funds."

"We have discovered an issue with the Grissom PTA Financials involving a member of the board," read the letter from Grissom Elementary PTA this week. "The Grissom PTA has taken the necessary action to remove the board member in question and the incident has been reported to Old Bridge Police Department who are actively investigating the matter."
Old Bridge Police and the Middlesex County Prosecutor did not immediately respond to a request for more information.
