Aberdeen, NJ - The Aberdeen Planning Board next week will consider a request from Glassworks LIHTC, LLC, commonly known as the former Anchor Glass manufacturing plant, to install solar modules on two of the buildings already under construction.

The former site of two former factories, including the Anchor Glass manufacturing plants next to the Aberdeen-Matawan Train Station, is being converted into multi-phase rental and retail project.

What the planners will consider at the 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 public hearing for an amended site plan is the installation of solar modules on the exterior roofs of buildings G and H which are both currently under construction on the 51-acre parcel at 145 Cliffwood Ave., here. The public hearing will be convened at the Municipal Plaza, 1 Aberdeen Square. The area has already been designated one in need of redevelopment and the Phase 1a plan provides for 110 affordable rental units, according to a public notice on the hearing.
