Aberdeen To Hold Fireworks Celebration Friday Night
Township officials announced Friday afternoon that it will hold its Annual Independence Day Celebration tonight starting at 6 p.m.

ABERDEEN, NJ — Tropical Storm Elsa could not stop the township from holding its annual fireworks show.
Township officials announced Friday afternoon that it will hold its Annual Independence Day Celebration Friday night. The celebration was postponed from July 2 due to weather.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. in Veterans Memorial Park, and will feature a DJ, food vendors (including Cousins Maine Lobster and Aberdeen's own Fatty's Fat Snacks), bouncy castles and other activities for children. Fireworks will begin at 9 p.m.

"After taking all safety considerations into account about the conditions at Cliffwood Beach and Veterans Memorial Park, we are a GO for tonight’s fireworks," the township posted on its Facebook page.
However, due to the conditions after Tropical Storm Elsa, the township is asking the community to:

- Bring lawn chairs over blankets. The grounds are still saturated.
- Bring personal Bug Spray
- In order to maximize viewing space at Veterans Memorial Park, it highly recommends parking at LA Fitness and using shuttle buses that will bring you to the beach.
The township is providing shuttle bus service starting at 6 p.m. from the LA Fitness parking lot. The last shuttle bus before the fireworks is at 8:30 p.m. After the fireworks, the buses will bring participants back and drop off in the LA Fitness parking lot.
Handicapped parking is also available, but limited. Parking for disabled and elderly is also available at the Presbyterian Church on Greenwood Lane.
