Aberdeen: NJ's First-Ever Indoor Beach Volleyball Arena Opens

The old Tab Ramos Sports Center in Aberdeen is now Highline Arena, the first and only indoor beach volleyball complex in the state.

ABERDEEN, NJ — Now you can play beach volleyball, in real sand, any day of the week, no matter what the weather or time of year! A company called Highline Arena has moved into the old Tab Ramos Sports Center in Aberdeen, and they've converted the indoor sports center into a massive indoor beach volleyball complex, the first and only indoor space of its kind in the entire state of New Jersey, the owners say.

Highline Arena provided these photos to Patch this week, showing off the new space. They had to ship in more than 60 dump trucks full of real sand, the owners said. There are six beach volleyball courts and volleyball teams from up and down the Jersey Shore are already coming to play there.

The beach volleyball courts only take up half the space. The other half remains an indoor roller hockey rink for competitive teams to play (it looks like ice hockey, but they're wearing roller skates).
