Aberdeen Owners Are Reminded: Shovel That Snow, Remove Ice
Aberdeen Township is reminding residential property owners they are obligated to remove snow and ice 24 hours after weather clears.

ABERDEEN, NJ - As communities gear up for the upcoming storm, they are reminding residents of their obligations, which first and foremost is to stay safe. Secondly, if you are a residential property owner here, remove the snow and ice from the sidewalks in front of your parcel.
In Aberdeen, it is the responsibility of the owner of any residential lot to remove all snow and ice from the sidewalk in front or bordering their lots within 24 hours of the end of the storm event. The sidewalk area should be cleared to a width of at least three feet, officials said in a notice.
For non-residential lots abutting or bordering on the sidewalks of a public street, the property owner is required to remove all snow and ice from the sidewalk in front or bordering the site within 12 hours of the storm's cessation.
If the property owner fails to clean the areas in the time frames provided, the township has the power to remove the snow or ice and bill the associated costs to the owner.
