Aberdeen Police Respond To Overdose, Domestic Violence Cases
In the two-week between Dec. 20 and Jan. 2, Aberedeen Police were busy with vehicle crashes, domestic violence calls and noise complaints.

ABERDEEN, NJ - Officers responded to 15 motor-vehicle crashes over the two-week period ending Jan. 2. The locations were Atlantic Ave./ Railroad Plaza, where there were two; Highway 34/Mill Road; South Concourse/West Concourse; Milton Avenue/Rose Street; Highway 34/Randall Way and Mathiasen Place. The remainder were in parking lots and/or private property.
On Dec. 27, meanwhile, a Bechstein Drive resident reported the attempted theft of holiday lawn decorations. Patrol Officer Bart Szulczynski took the report.
On Dec. 30, Patrol Officers Martin Walsh and Jessica McDougall responded to an overdose in a restroom at the Shop Rite store on Lloyd Road. Officers administered two doses of Narcan and were able to revive the 45-year-old male victim, who was then transported to Bayshore Community Hospital.
Officers responded to or initiated 518 calls for service between Dec. 20 and Jan. 2, including 29 suspicious persons/vehicles; 46 alarms; 44 first aid calls; nine domestic violence incidents, nine noise complaints, five disorderly persons, 15 motor-vehicle crashes, one theft, three frauds, five welfare checks, eight crisis intervention calls and 110 motor vehicle stops. Officers issued 125 motor-vehicle summonses.

- Peter J. Martin, 54, Aberdeen, was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to report an accident following a motor vehicle crash on Idlewild Lane on December 23. Patrol Officer Raymond Campbell was the arresting officer. He was assisted by Patrol Officer John Zeller.
- Frederick A. Caruso, 52, Manalapan, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, refusal to submit to a breath test and other motor vehicle violations following a motor-vehicle stop on Lloyd Road Dec. 24. Patrol Officer Ronald Osadacz was the arresting officer.
- On Dec. 26, a 23-year-old Orange man was charged with simple assault and theft following an incident at Ken Gardens on Matawan Avenue. He also was wanted on contempt warrants out of Orange, Woodbridge and Montclair municipal courts. Patrol Officer Mohamed Mahmoud was the arresting officer.
- On Dec. 30, a 28-year-old Aberdeen man was charged with simple assault following an incident on Lower Main Street. Patrol Officer Anthony Marone was the arresting officer.
- A 20-year-old township woman was charged with obstruction of justice following an incident on Parva Place Dec. 31. A 23-year-old Aberdeen man also was arrested on a warrant for simple assault that took place in July on LCPL Phillip E. Frank Way. Patrol Officers Roger Peter and Frank Maisano were the arresting officers.
- A 30-year-old township woman was charged with disorderly conduct following an incident on County Road Jan. 1. Patrol Officer Ronald Osadacz was the arresting officer.
- On Jan. 1, a 31-year-old Marlboro man was charged with simple assault following an incident on Netherwood Drive. He also was wanted on contempt warrants out of Freehold and Wall municipal courts. Patrol Officer Ronald Osadacz and Det. Anthony Valentino were the arresting officers.
- A 33-year-old Perth Amboy woman was arrested on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court following a motor-vehicle stop on Reid’s Hill Road Jan. 2. Patrol Officer Raymond Campbell was the arresting officer.
- An 18-year-old Sayreville man was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and driving an unregistered vehicle following a motor-vehicle stop on Highway 35 Jan. 2. Patrol Officer Bruce Monro was the arresting officer.

On Dec. 28, a Wellington Place resident reported someone had fraudulently accessed his credit union checking account. Patrol Officer Edgar Serrano took the report.
