Bayshore Nurse, Red Cross Volunteer Dies at 71
She was a volunteer with the American Red Cross in VA and NY; as well as with Twin Lights Museum in Highlands, NJ; the Keyport Board of Health; the Keyport Environmental Commission; the Keyport Fire Ladies Auxiliary; and the Keyport Fire Museum Assoc

Marjorie L. (Locke) Seckinger, 71, of Keyport, passed away, Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, Englewood, NJ.  Born in Whitefield, NH, she resided in Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Nyack, NY, before moving to Keyport, NJ 23 years ago.  She was an elementary school teacher in North Carolina; the Aquatics Director at the YMCA, Nyack, NY; a nurse at Bayshore Community Hospital; and a member of the Keyport Code Enforcement team. She was a volunteer with the American Red Cross in VA and NY; as well as with Twin Lights Museum in Highlands, NJ; the Keyport Board of Health; the Keyport Environmental Commission; the Keyport Fire Ladies Auxiliary; and the Keyport Fire Museum Association.Â
Marjorie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Rowland S. Seckinger in 2009; and her parents, William Locke and Charlotte M. Clark.  She is survived by her loving children, Alison L. Crapse, Lenora S. Mesibov, Rowland B. Seckinger, Gregory W. Brooks and Karen A. Sellite; a dear sister, Margaret (Peggy) McCollough; and 19 cherished grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
At the direction of the family, cremation will be private.  A Memorial Gathering will take place on Monday, August 12, 2013, from 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735.  Private interment of cremains will take place in September 2013 in Laurel Grove Cemetery, Savannah, GA.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marjorie’s name to the Keyport Fire Museum Association, P.O.
