Cliffwood Avenue Railroad Crossing Repair Begins July 14
This project will have a major impact on vehicle traffic traveling on Cliffwood Avenue between Old Bridge Township and State Highway 35.

Aberdeen, NJ - From the Aberdeen police department: The New Jersey Department of Transportation along with NJ Transit, will be proceeding with a railroad crossing repair and resurfacing project on Cliffwood Avenue in Aberdeen Township. This project will be located at the railroad crossing in Aberdeen Township between Locust Street and Rose Street. This project will have a major impact on vehicle traffic traveling on Cliffwood Avenue between Old Bridge Township and State Highway 35.
The Aberdeen Township Police Department has been advised that the tentative start date for this project is set to begin on Thursday July 14 at 7:00 a.m., which should last till July 20 at 7:00 p.m. However, weather and unforeseen conditions may extend the work schedule and traffic conditions.
In order to complete this work in a safe and efficient manner, Cliffwood Avenue (CR-6-A), during this project will be closed at the intersections of Locust Street and Rose Street to ALL vehicular traffic traveling in BOTH directions. All vehicular traffic includes emergency vehicles as well.

A full detour plan has been established and approved, which has been posted along the roadways in our area. We understand that this will affect traffic in multiple jurisdictions so we are asking the public to plan an alternate route while this project is taking place. If you have a social media account please share this message with family, friends and co-workers who live and work in this area.
The detour plan calls for vehicles to use Matawan Avenue, Aberdeen Road, Ravine Drive, County Road and Laurence Harbor Parkway to navigate around this roadwork. AGAIN detour signs have been placed up in advance for you to plan ahead.
