Have Questions About the Matawan Aberdeen Library Renovation?

The library is in the process of renovating the public meeting room and several offices.

Matawan Aberdeen Public Library Director Kimberly Paone will be on hand Wednesday, Oct. 24 during regular business hours to answer questions about the renovation that is currently underway.

The renovation project contains two major components. The first involves the basement, where the public meeting room is located, and the second involves office space for certain staff members.

The library board approved Architect Christine Balint to design plans for an expanded meeting space in the basement and a renovation of office space on the main floor in February 2012.

The board then issued a bid for the construction phase of the project, noting that they did not want to spend more than $200,000. The successful bidder was Four Star Developers of Neptune, Paone said, and the project is expected to cost $185,300.

As long as there are no major bumps in the road, the renovation is expected to be completed in February 2013.
