ABERDEEN, NJ — From the National Weather Service, here are the final snow counts for the Matawan-Aberdeen area.

As normally happens, the Northwest corner of New Jersey (Sussex County) got the most snow: 32 inches was recorded in Newton and 30 inches in Sparta, making for the most snowfall in the nor'easter snowstorm.

Matawan-Aberdeen public school students are enjoying a complete snow day on Tuesday, Feb. 2; there is no virtual learning. "We hope everyone can unplug and enjoy the snow with family," said the district.

In neighboring towns, there were "remarkably few car accidents" Monday during the storm, said Middletown's administrator Anthony Mercantante. "The public was really great about staying off the roads."

There were a couple accidents on the Garden State Parkway in Monmouth County Monday afternoon, and the county sheriff shared this photo of a car flipped over on Rt. 18 in Colts Neck. So far, there have also been no major reported power outages
