ABERDEEN, NJ —A section of Matawan Avenue will be closed for at least three weeks for the repair and resurfacing of the bridge deck over the Garden State Parkway.

Aberdeen Police announced Matawan Avenue will be closed to all vehicular traffic, including emergency vehicles, traveling southbound toward Matawan Borough from the intersection of West Prospect Avenue. The section of Matawan Avenue will be closed from July 6 at 7 a.m. through July 23, however, weather and other unforeseen circumstances could extend the schedule.

The work will be completed by the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and the Joseph M. Sanzari Inc. Construction Company. A full detour plan has been posted along the roadways around the project, however, police are asking the public to plan an alternate route while construction is taking place.
